Text messages
Humanity Decides sends one kind of text message: a six-digit code to confirm a signature, and only to someone who asks for one. We never text campaign news, updates or anything else, and we never share or sell numbers.
How you agree to receive it
Signing asks for your email, and we send the confirmation link there. If that email doesn’t arrive, the waiting page offers “Email not arriving? Verify by text instead”. Only then are you asked for a mobile number, and only the number you type yourself is used. Nothing is sent unless you press the button.
By entering your number you agree to receive one text message with a code to confirm your signature. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out, HELP for help.
The form you type your number into
This is the screen, exactly as it appears after signing. Nothing is sent until “Text me a code” is pressed, and the code screen below is what follows.
What you see after sending
What arrives
Your Humanity Decides verification code is: 123456
Your Humanity Decides code is 123456. It expires in 10 minutes. Reply STOP to opt out.
How often
One message for each code you ask for, at most three an hour. There is no recurring messaging, and no marketing. Reply STOP at any time to receive nothing further; reply HELP for help.
What we keep
We do not store your number. We keep only a scrambled, one-way version of it, so the same phone cannot confirm two signatures, and we send the number to our text-message provider solely to deliver that code.
